Replace toner cartridge, drum, or printer?

      If your Brother is finally starting to show its age. It's still on the original toner cartridge, with no sign of running out, but there's now a light coat of toner over the entire page -- as if every page had a light gray background.      You didn't  know you should replace the toner cartridge (relatively inexpensive),the drum (about $20 less than a new printer), or the entire printer?      I dunno about your model, but the MFC model I have came with toner cartridge yield about 3000 pages. I already refilled it twice and just order 2-pack of 6000 pages toner kits.     So I guess your may runs low of toner, and you can buy toner kit (you can get them pretty cheap on EBY) and fill it yourself to save some buck.                                It isn't hard as you just remove the plug, use Shop-Vac to vacuum all the older toner out (I a...

EBY: Using remanufactured cartridge

  Hey all❤,    My friend have a Brother printer , and he was wondering how safe it is to use remanufacture ink cartridge? Is it safe to use any non-official/original cartridge? Does it clog the ink jet head using the remanufacture cartridge long terms?    If you want to know this issue too,I can answer the problem with you.    There is a difference between remanufacture and compatible cartridges. The remanufacture cartridges for this printer are OEM Brother that have been refilled, and the chip on them has been reset to retain all OEM information (ie. ink level). The compatible cartridges, are made by another company (not Brother) are filled and have no chip included. You have to remove the original Canon chip, and attach it to the compatible cartridge in order to use it. Printer Brother HL 2240D question

Hey all☺, That's some printer's issue and solution. Replace question: It's been a long time since I used my Brother HL2240D printer. After cleaning all the ink slots, the black ink prints nothing but colored ink printing are OK. Is it possible to load black ink cartridge to all ink slots so that I can get my print in black ink? Anybody has tried using black cartridge in all ink slots? Thanks Solution:   No. Each slot is designated for the correct color. The printer will sense this and stop all printing.
