Someone chatting me to help him, he asked : I just replaced toner with a new toner cartridge. Printer works but still shows error message to replace toner. Could this be because I just opened and installed the starter cartridge that came with the printer? When I set the printer up I installed a new high yield cartridge. What can I do? Hey all❤, My friend have a Brother printer , and he was wondering how safe it is to use remanufacture ink cartridge? Is it safe to use any non-official/original cartridge? Does it clog the ink jet head using the remanufacture cartridge long terms? If you want to know this issue too,I can answer the problem with you. There is a difference between remanufacture and compatible cartridges. The remanufacture cartridges for this printer are OEM Brother that have been refilled, and the chip on them has been reset to retain all OEM information (ie. ink level). The compatible cartridges, are made by another company (not Brother) are filled and have no chip included. You have to remove the original Canon chip, and attach it to the compatible cartridge in order to use it. The ink level will have to be disabled in order to print.
